There’s been one word that’s been on my mind all weekend: abundance. Overflowing, amazing, can’t-even-believe-it abundance.
Mindset is a choice. I could choose to not feel utterly beyond grateful for the abundance in my life. My life is for sure not perfect. Nowhere near. But as you know, I’ve been on this journey of personal growth and challenging myself to become a better version of me. I got sick of the place of darkness that I felt stuck in and I’ve been clawing my way out.
I see more and more light.
Again, it’s a choice.
I’ve mentioned before that I’ve read specifically on gratitude and the difference that it can make in one’s life. For quite a while I was listing ten things I was grateful for and why every single night before bed. Somehow at some point I slipped out of the habit and only recently realized it. It’s probably time to get back into it. Sometimes I get so hyper focused on things that I forget some of the other good things I’ve learned along the way.
I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts and reading books that have to do with personal development. I try to do both for at least half an hour a day. But gratitude is also an important key that I was reminded of by listening to the Darren Daily on Friday. If you’re not subscribed to his weekday emails, I highly recommend it. They’re usually about five minutes or less of motivation to get you going in the morning. He covers all kinds of topics and on Friday he was talking about goals and abundance and it just made so much sense. He said that when we create goals and are working hard toward our goals every day we have a tendency to get too focused on all the things we want that we don’t have and we’re working toward achieving, that we forget all the amazing blessings we have.
So I’ve spent the weekend really trying to be intentional about being grateful for all that I’m blessed with and the list is so freaking long. Really, truly, I’ve been so overwhelmed with gratitude that I feel like I could burst. I won’t bore you with a long list, but there are a couple highlights. We celebrated Reagan’s birthday with family this weekend and we are incredibly blessed with the gift that she is and with the love and support of my family. The weather has been knock-out gorgeous and such a beautiful reminder of the promise of spring after the winter…whether in the physical sense…or the emotional/spiritual sense.
Spring is coming.
The more I continue to work on my mindset and my relationship with the Lord, the more excited I get to experience the spring that is coming after a hard winter.
It’s going to be beautiful.
I’m going to continue to meditate on this word abundance. Abundance in health, abundance in wealth, abundance in relationships, abundance in faith, abundance in productivity…abundance in all areas of life.
How has God blessed you? Dig deep. We are some of the wealthiest people on the planet. Even in the tough times, we have much to be grateful for. I can’t remember where I heard it, but someone said, ‘I was bemoaning my old worn-out shoes until I met a man with no feet.’
John, in his gospel, records Jesus saying that He came to give life and give it abundantly. There is so much negativity in the world today, even amongst Christians, and many people don’t live as if this is the truth. I want the abundant life Jesus promised; do you?
Celebrate today the abundance you’ve been given.
Yes we have abundance beyond belief!! What a great reminder to be thankful in all things every mi Ute of every day. 😀
